![]() APRIL 2025 Cards For Prisoners exists to bring hope and encouragement to incarcerated individuals and their loved ones through heartfelt letters and cards. We share God’s love with those currently and formerly incarcerated, offering support as they rebuild their lives. Our mission includes engaging the local church to walk alongside returning citizens and families affected by incarceration, fostering community and “Tangible Hope.” VERSE OF THE MONTH “Your beauty and splendor have everyone talking; I compose songs on your wonders. Your marvelous doings are headline news; I could write a book full of the details of your greatness. The fame of your goodness spreads across the country; your righteousness is on everyone’s lips”.Psalm 145:5-7 The Message ![]() ![]() What are the chances?I have said those words so many times! I share my stories of “winks from God” everywhere I go. Those things that happen in our lives that there is no other explanation than it was God. I want to share a wink my friend received from God a few weeks ago. I was at a church service that welcomes returned citizens. After the meeting, a man (Tom) approached me and was excited because he heard I was with Cards For Prisoners. He showed me a folder he had with him. It contained copies of the many cards and letters he received during his incarceration. He began talking about the letters and asked who wrote to him, and why so many notes of encouragement! I told him I would show him a video of the author of those letters! I played the video on my phone for him (you may watch it from the link below). He wept as the person behind those cards became real to him. He saw the heart and soul of the couple that cared enough to write to him. He said it was those letters that kept him going through the tough days of his incarceration. I then remembered that the person in the video planned to attend one of the meetings in the next few weeks. She said she wanted to be there when I told her he would share his story.Tom called her up to the front at the end of his story that day, presented her with a picture of Moses’ arms being held up during the battle, and thanked her for holding his arms up through his incarceration when others weren’t there for him. There were many tears shed as you can imagine and we knew only God could arrange for the two of them to meet in such an unusual way. What were the chances?!
